Likes: Coffee shops, swimming pools, summer nights, wood smell after framing a house, my three sons, cooking/baking for people Dislikes: Windstorms, deception/untruth, sleepless nights, impatience, moving, presumptuousness, intentional waste Michael is energized by empowering people to overcome personal and relational issues. He believes in providing people with responsive and correct information along with resources that will positively impact people’s lives. He grew up in Port Angeles attending Queen of Angels for his elementary and middle school years and Port Angeles High School (Go RoughRiders!). He got his degree in Social Science at WSU (Go Cougs!) and in 2023, hopes to get his Master’s in Social Work or Strategic Communication. For eight years, Michael created and operated a successful business in King County and then moved to his family’s construction company where he served as foreman/project manager for nine years. He moved back to the Peninsula in 2019 and for the last few years worked for First Fed as a construction administrator and appraisal coordinator. Michael served in a Recovery Ministry called Celebrate Recovery for seven years (five as a leader) & in addition to this he continued his love of people by going on two short-term mission trips to California (Gleaning for the Hungry) and Australia (Australian Indigenous Ministries). In 2018, Michael was certified as a Washington State Advocate for Domestic Violence where he served in multiple roles, over the next year, for a confidential shelter in South King County. In the last three years he has had training in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion plus Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. |
