Colleen was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. In 1989 she married the man of her dreams and started a family, moving to Sequim in 1995. Once in Sequim, the happy couple decided to enrich their family as foster parents and eventually foster-adopting 3 more children, expanding their family of 4 to a big, blended family of 7!
In the nearly 30 years of making Sequim her home and raising her kids, Colleen has contributed to the community through her career choices and volunteer efforts. Some of her most notable positions have been as the Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for Clallam and East Jefferson Counties for over 10 years. Colleen joined Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County in 2015 quickly moving up the ranks, first as the Community Outreach Coordinator and then in her existing role as
Executive Director in 2017.
Some of her passion projects include the Sequim Lavender Festival, Citizens for Sequim Schools, North Olympic Foster Parent Association, Habitat for Humanity International US Council member; and currently through her membership of the Sequim Sunrise Rotary - serving as the Youth Services Director and Sequim High School Interact Club Advisor – in addition, she serves as a board member of Sequim & Dungeness Valley Chambers of Commerce and Clallam County Economic Development Council.
In July 2023, Colleen happily accepted a position serving on the board of Olympic Angels where she plans to continue contributing her knowledge and skills to support the needs of her beloved community.
