Gifts of ira Rmd's & DAF's
IRA-RMD Donations
If you currently take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA, please consider donating a portion (or all) of it to Olympic Angels.
It's called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), and by giving directly to Olympic Angels, you will lower your taxable income and may have other significant tax benefits.
You can arrange it with your IRA account holder and maybe even set it up online yourself. Some retirement account holders will arrange monthly donations or provide a special IRA checkbook so you can write the checks yourself. Donor names don't always appear on RMD checks we receive, so unless you want to remain completely anonymous, please let us know the donation details - or ask that the check be made out to Olympic Angels but sent to you. If you mail it directly to us, we'll know who to thank! Donor-Advised Funds
Even if you are not yet required to take an RMD, a Donor-Advised Fund can give you tax benefits because you will not pay capital gains tax on appreciated assets deposited in the fund. If you itemize deductions on your tax return, you can also take a charitable donation when you deposit assets into your DAF.
Your financial advisor can explain the benefits and costs of creating and managing a DAF. |
