JAN WHYTE

Wife, mother, grandmother, volunteer, friend.
Likes: Reading, puzzles, friends, music, the ocean waves.
Dislikes: Meanness, small mindedness, cold weather.

After college, Jan worked as a social worker for several years licensing foster homes, as a caseworker, and in adoption services. 

After having two children she was active in our San Diego Community and worked in various accounting departments including two non-profits.

Jan and her husband Tim retired to Port Townsend in 2006, where their daughter and family had settled. Jan has volunteered with Jefferson Community Foundation, served as a founding member of the Fund For Women & Girls, and Olympic Angels! 

AAUW Port Townsend is an important part of her life here and she has served on several committees, served as Treasurer, and is currently on the Endowed Scholarship and the Women of Excellence committees. Jan is very excited to be back on the Board of this great organization.
