FAMILIES & YOUTH
ON THE WAITLIST

ABOUT THE WAITLIST

We currently have several amazing families and youth waiting to be matched in our programs. Our heart at Olympic Angels is to say YES to families that make the decision to foster, and connect every youth in foster care with a committed, consistent and caring mentor.

We believe that healthy relationships will be the turning point for kids experiencing foster care.

Children and families in our programs need committed and caring volunteers to step in and be part of a community of support. Check out just a few of our awesome families below and reach out with any questions about how you can get involved!

FAMILIES WAITING FOR A LOVE BOX

FAMILY #1  - MATCH MADE!
Relative Caregiver Home - 2 year old | 14 year old - Port Hadlock
Grandparents raising grand-babies. This is a very hard-working family living on a single income. They could use all levels and types of support. From child care, transportation, monthly curated gift boxes, and emotional support.

FAMILY #2 - MATCH MADE!
Relative Caregiver Home - 13 year old | 4 year old | 8mo old - Port Hadlock
This single grandma is raising the eldest grandchild full time and on semi-regular occasions has the two younger siblings as well. This family would greatly benefit from financial support including monthly curated packages, meal drop-offs, emotional support, and time with the youth to allow the caregiver time to breathe.

FAMILY #3
Relative Caregiver Home - 14 year old | 10 year old | 8 year old twins | 6 year old - Port Ludlow
This large busy relative household could benefit from transportation for children to/from activities, child care to offer the caregivers time to themselves, community connection, and monthly curated packages. They are involved with football, cheerleading, and potentially gymnastics.

FAMILY #4 - MATCH MADE!
Foster Home - 15 year old - Port Townsend
This foster home currently has one youth placed with them and is hoping to adopt youth in the near future. Caregivers have shared that they would really like to find volunteers who are willing to spend one-on-one time with youth doing activities in the community and letting youth experience more of life and finding hobbies they enjoy. Other potential needs are minimal financial support for youth needs and occasional meals as parents run a business and work a lot of hours each week.

FAMILY #5
Foster Home -  5 year old | 4 year old -  Port Ludlow
Single foster parent currently raising two young children. Primary needs are babysitting/one-on-one time with the children, handyman-type help around the home, occasional transportation, emotional support, and monthly care packages. This foster parent would like an all-female love box group. Christianity is a big part of her life and ideally would like volunteers who share her beliefs.

FAMILY #6
Foster Home - 7 year old twins | 8 year old - Port Townsend
This foster home is newly licensed in Jefferson county and is a very busy family. Could benefit from occasional babysitting, some financial support, and monthly care packages including educational activities.

FAMILY #7
Foster Home- 15 year old - Port Townsend
A 15-year-old  has recently been placed back into a foster home in PT where she was living about a year prior. This is a single foster parent who could benefit from emotional support, minimal financial support, and volunteers wanting to spend one-on-one time with youth as the foster parent works full time.

YOUTH WAITING FOR A DARE TO DREAM MENTOR

YOUTH #1
15 Year Old Female | Port Townsend
The youth just moved to a foster home in PT. She has recently been diagnosed with high-functioning autism. It would be great to have someone with an understanding of autism (or willing to learn). This youth loves spending time with animals in any capacity and is interested in volunteer work or really anything animal related. Camping is a favorite pastime, enjoys exploring nature and just getting out and having fun. She struggles to make friends with peers her own age and would really love someone she can rely on and share life's ups and downs with.

YOUTH #2
16 Year Old Female | Port Townsend
This is a youth who has recently returned home to her parent, however, is still spending much of her time at a local foster home, which was a prior placement for her and who she considers family. She is really into music and fashion but has not really found any hobbies or activities she is interested in yet and is still really learning about who she is as a person. This would be a fantastic opportunity for a mentor to help the youth find her identity and gain confidence as she nears adulthood.

YOUTH #3 - MATCH MADE!
13 Year Old Male | Port Hadlock
This youth has a very sweet laid back personality and is identifying as a trans male in the LGBTQ+ community. Currently being raised by a loving grandmother. He is very interested in arts & drawing anime, music, and creative cooking. Very independent. He is currently attending Quilcene school district which is quite the trek to and from school. Would prefer a younger male mentor, who loves blue raspberry red bull spritzers and riding his bike.

YOUTH #4 - MATCH MADE!
14 Year Old Male | Port Hadlock
This youth is heading into his freshman year of high school this year. He has spent his summer volunteering at the local thrift store to work on skill building. He enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors.
Take the next step.
