3 Hours...

🎤K-pop made its first ever win at the Grammys this year thanks to an epicly popular animated TV show that follows three lady K-pop singers who secretly use their songs to protect the human world from demons.
I haven’t watched the show, but I’m pretty into that premise: people using their natural abilities and doing right by humanity. 🙌
Sounds a lot like one of our Love Boxes. These volunteers are making it possible for a kid to attend weekly play therapy sessions. This play therapy program has changed so many families’ lives for the better and spots in the program are coveted.
The youth lives in a single-parent household with three children, and the caregiver has an outsized load on her plate every day of the year. Plus, they live quite far from the play therapy, (as do the volunteers).
So it is with great thoughtfulness that the members of the Love Box take turns to:
đź‘‹ pick up the child
đźš— drive to therapy
⏳ wait outside the door
đźš— drive back home
This all takes nearly three hours, and it takes place in the evenings.
During the long drive, guess who chooses what they listen to? Yep, the youth. And you know what they listen to? That’s right, K-pop - at high volume.
The fact that both these things are true:
âś… the youth can attend this remarkable therapy
âž•
âś… the caregiver can stay home with the younger children
= something that, for a fostering single-parent household of three children, is revolutionary. đź’Ż
